2014 Mitsubishi Mirage Gets Class-Leading Fuel Economy

2014 Mitsubishi Mirage

If you are looking for a fuel efficient Mitsubishi in Phoenix, check out the 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage! According to Mitsubishi, the 2014 Mirage will offer the best fuel economy than any other non-hybrid car in the American market. Boasting 37 mpg city, 44mpg highway, the 2014 Mirage returns a combined mpg rating of 40mpg. This leaves little competition, with similar cars in the subcompact class estimated at 31 mpg city and 40 mpg highway.

The 2014 Mirage is a five-door hatchback that comes in two trims. The base Mirage DE comes with standard features that include automatic climate control, keyless entry, full power accessories, seven air bags and a four-speaker stereo with a CD player and USB port. The ES trim adds features like keyless access with push-button start, Bluetooth phone connectivity, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, fog lights and alloy wheels.

In addition to standard features, some extra-cost options packages are available.

  • The Navigation Package: brings a navigation system and a rearview camera
  • The Exterior Package: garnishes the fog light surrounds, lower grille, and hatch with chrome.
  • The Parking Assist Package: includes front and rear proximity sensors
  • The Protection Package adds mud flaps and other protective body gear
  • The Cargo Group includes a tray and net in the trunk
  • The LED package brings LED interior lighting.

The Mirage also comes with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 74 horsepower. A five-speed manual transmission is standard and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is optional. Mitsubishi says the Mirage gets its best fuel economy estimates with the CVT.

As for safety, the Mirage is practically filled with modern features that you could only find in a midsize sedan a generation ago, like a seven air bag Supplemental Restraint System, Active Stability Control with Traction Control Logic, and Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution impact-absorbing safety cell technology, among others.

The 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage will go on sale this fall. Until then, visit Chapman Mitsubishi for more information.
